The Archuleta County Democratic Club will have a virtual meeting on Tuesday, January 18 at 11:45am. The speaker, who will present at noon, will be Donald Valdez, a candidate running for the US House of Representatives to represent Congressional District 3. All Democrats and any unaffiliated voters who plan to vote in the 2022 Democratic primary are urged to come to this meeting.
Representative Valdez has been a member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 62 since January, 2017. He has a BS in Business, has served as Deputy Public Trustee for the Conejos County Treasurer’s Office, and has worked for the US Department of Agriculture in the Natural Resources Conservation Service. One of the bills that he cosponsored was a broadband bill which would expand broadband services to underserved areas. This bill was signed by the governor in July, 2021.
Don Valdez is a fifth generation Coloradan and a farmer and rancher. Because of his background in agriculture and his experience with the US Department of Agriculture, he is especially concerned about protecting rural water rights and our natural resources for ranching and for tourism.
The Archuleta County Democratic Club meets every third Tuesday of the month. The Club gives local Democrats the opportunity to meet with other Democrats and to hear speakers from the community, to meet candidates for local and national offices, and to hear about topics of timely interest.
All are welcome to attend.
