LETTER: The Drug Landscape is Changing

I am reading the daily articles titled “Is Pagosa Going to Pot?” and I keep seeing the concern about fentanyl and even seeing black heroin at the Four Corners. The tone seems to be one of surprise that fentanyl is showing up a lot lately.

Why isn’t there the obvious reference that these drugs are changing the landscape because they are so predominant, and that is because the border is wide open and there drugs are pouring in — and in Pagosa, this is becoming evident? Please, call a spade a spade.

The drug landscape is changing and everyone should acknowledge why.
