Tomorrow is Final Day for Pagosa Farmers Market

The last day of the Pagosa Farmers Market is tomorrow, Saturday, September 25.

After months of tables covered with tomatoes, beets, lush greens, jams and baked goods, the Pagosa Farmers Market season is coming to a close. The market has had a great season with a good customer turnout from locals and visitors alike.

We continue to accept SNAP EBT cards and will double the value of the first $20 purchase with free Double up Buck from Nourish Colorado to purchase Colorado grown fresh fruits and vegetables.

We also continue to accept coupons distributed by Area Agency on Aging; however, this is the last market where they can be redeemed. So, make it down and the earlier the better. We close for the season at 1pm.

Our vendors and our staff wish to say thank you for a successful season. This last farmers market of the season will feature many of our favorite vendors that have been with us all season including your favorite toffee maker, fresh breads, gluten-free and vegan options, beets, squash, pasture raised chicken, pastries and more.

In addition, there will be Mirasol green chile from Pueblo, Colo., which is very meaty with a sweet flavor and medium heat. This chile will make the best chile sauce you have ever tasted and the roasted green chili gives the most amazing aroma of the autumn season.

Pumpkin spice who? We’ve got the real spice you’re looking for. Consider purchasing in bulk and freezing some of your stash for fresh chile verde flavor all year round.

Take this opportunity also to stock up on the freshest homegrown produce from our local farmers and food producers. Consider canning, freezing or dehydrating the bountiful harvest for the winter ahead.
