GOAL High School Kicks Off New School Year

Camaraderie, Unity, and Pure Excitement were in abundance in Pueblo when a wave of nearly 500 GOAL High School staff from across the state converged in Pueblo, the headquarters where GOAL was founded at its inception in 1997.

We would love to give Archuleta County families a tour at our Pagosa GOAL High School site at 105 Country Center Drive, Suite F.

Homelessness, teen parenthood, bullying, boredom, social anxiety, pandemic uncertainty… all reasons for the steady growth that GOAL High School continues to experience. Now, with over 5,000 high school students and 37 student drop-in centers across the state; the school is looked upon as a model for online educational success. Success can come in many forms including GOAL’s basic two pathways: the 22 credit pathway (standard to Colorado Department of Education) and GOAL’s Senior Recovery Program — specifically designed for over-aged, under-credited students.

GOAL has been pioneering and perfecting the ‘blended’ model of online learning for over 14 years. Curriculum is delivered through a variety of online platforms with the support of an exceptionally talented technology department who partners with the likes of Microsoft, Lenovo, and T-Mobile. In fact, GOAL is one of only 325 Microsoft Showcase Schools, and the only alternative education campus to be included amongst these schools leading in educational innovation and transformation. However, high quality technology is simply not enough. GOAL believes fully in the power of relationship and providing safe and comfortable sites for students to utilize for academic assistance, social emotional support, activities, or even just a hot meal.

GOAL’s mission is to develop productive members of society. The school vision is to help ALL students achieve their full potential in a caring, supportive, and personalized environment. That environment includes the likes of an English language learner and exceptional student services programs that are second to none; not to mention, offering free college credit, career and technical education, a for-credit field trip program, and even an Esports competitive video gaming program.

The first day of school is slated for August 25 and enrollment will continue through the end of September. GOAL is a free, public charter school serving students grades 9-12 and up to 21 years of age. For more information, check out the website at goalac.org or call 877-776-4625.
