HMPRESENTLY: Communists… Really?

They’re coming out of the woodwork, all of a sudden. Communists! Right here in the USA!

Didn’t the commies used to be in Russia and other countries with authoritarian, iron-fisted rulers? They still are, actually.

Before Vladimir Putin was president of Russia, others held the top job. Nikita Khrushchev, for example, and Leonid Brezhnev, Yuri Andropov, Konstantin Chernenko, Mikhail Gorbachev and Gennady Yanayev. I believe they all were general secretaries of the Communist Party — to repeat: the Communist Party — in a nation chock-full of Communists.

The USA – a democracy – has always been on the other side. One of America’s two major political parties is called the Democratic Party. So, it’s rather amusing that various politicians in the other major party, the Republican Party, are raising alarms about Communists coming out of the woodwork.

The My Pillow guy, whose company sells soft, soothing pillows, just the other day, was urging the Supreme Court to reinstate Donald Trump and rid America of Communists.

Think about Nikita Khrushchev, the General Secretary of Russia’s Communist Party, speaking at the UN General Assembly, back in the 1950s… with a shoe in his hand. Notice him shaking it, menacingly…

Have you ever seen Democrats like Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, or even AOC, getting all worked up, like that, with their footwear? I’ll bet you haven’t, because they’re Democrats, here in the USA, not Communists.

Khrushchev maybe even patented the frightening scowl that’s popular with authoritarian rulers. His scowl gave folks the shivers. You can see that in old newsreels. Come to think of it, America’s past president, Donald Trump, seems to have mastered scowling.

And if the proof is in the scowl, I’d say far more Republicans, than Democrats, who are scowling right now. GOP Senator Ted Cruz looks pretty dour, a lot of the time. Republican Congressman Jim Jordan, too, and he sure yells a lot. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar and others, aren’t, exactly, bundles of joy, either.

Going by the scowling index — if there’s such a thing — who’s who, and what’s what?
