As my family and I are doing household chores, I joke about us being ahead of the game.
Having the trash and recycling mostly ready, a day or two before our scheduled pickup, each week, I’m always chanting that:
We’re ahead of the game! AHEAD OF THE GAME!
I’m chanting that, as other chores are in progress. When we’re vacuuming or clearing the table, or washing dishes, for example.
So, hearing on TV, this past Saturday, that the Democrats need to get tougher – this was on the MSNBC show, ‘The Cross Connection’ – I’m thinking back to a couple of articles, last May, in the Daily Post, urging Democrats to get their “badass on!”
Maybe those articles were AHEAD OF THE GAME?
A strategic plan — ‘Badass Dems for America’ — was unveiled in the second of the two articles, which you can read, here.
The plan called for a publicity campaign, with press releases and messaging in Social Media. Maybe there could be some kind of competition, like years ago, when folks tried repeating tongue-twisters as fast as they could, with the fastest at it declared the winner. There even was an example of a tongue-twister in my plan, suggesting that our former president’s political posturing and rhetoric was, perhaps, getting rather old. And, perhaps that’s actually happening, now. For example, his post-presidency blog, “From The Desk of Donald J. Trump,” just bit the dust, due to declining readership.
Didn’t I hear in the news he was getting only a few thousand readers? I believe some of the stuff I’ve written has been getting more readership.
With some badass — just the right level of it — the Dems might be able to counter the former reality show guy’s showmanship. Remember when he hugged the flag? And the flag didn’t hug him back? And when he defiantly yanked off his face mask, upon getting back to the White House, after being hospitalized with a slight case of COVID. And remember that jutting chin of his, sort of reminiscent of Benito Mussolini, who led the National Fascist Party in Italy. That became known as his Mussolini moment, when Mr. Trump ascended the staircase of the White House, before doing his mask-yanking thing?
And the many other visual images, that the Dems — with some badass — could use to their advantage. Like, back in August 2017, when the former president stood gazing at the total solar eclipse. Without viewing glasses!
Was that why he seldom — if ever — read through briefing papers? Badass Dems could have some fun with that. Maybe in his post-eclipse eyes, he thought he was hugging something, other than, the flag?
Was he flubbing more golf shots, post-eclipse, too?
With so much Trump, during his four years in the Oval Office, and now, his lingering impact on the Republican Party, the Dems could strategically plan some mighty fine badass.
To stay AHEAD OF THE GAME!
