Archuleta County Assessor Woodruff Discusses Her Resignation

The Archuleta Board of County Commissioners briefly discussed the resignation of County Assessor Natalie Woodruff at their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 1, and heard Ms. Woodruff recommend Johanna Tully-Elliot to fill the remainder of her term.

According to a letter sent to the BOCC on May 19, Ms. Woodruff would be resigning effective September 4, 2021.

In that letter, Ms. Woodruff wrote:

“I would request that the Board appoint Johanna Tully-Elliot to fill the remainder of my term. She has been the driving force in our reappraisals and successful state mandated audits during my tenure as Assessor. I feel she is the best person to continue in my place…

“I am asking that the Board make this decision sooner rather than later as there are certain things over the next few months (budget and the URA Board in particular) where I feel both of us should participate and having the Board announce that Johanna will be Assessor as of September 5, 2021, would make the transition smoother.”

The letter was copied to Marilyn Harris, Archuleta County [Republican] Central Committee Chairman.
