VIDEO: Jim Fox Demonstrates an Immune System Treatment During the COVID Pandemic

We don’t get many calls, here at the Daily Post, from licensed Colorado acupuncturists offering to demonstrate an updated version of a 2000-year-old Chinese immune system treatment.

So when South Fork, Colorado, acupuncturist Jim Fox offered to drive to Pagosa Springs and demonstrate a simple acupressure treatment meant to invigorate the ‘innate immune system’ — a treatment he believes can help minimize the dangers of COVID-19 infections — we took him up on the offer.

In this 5-minute video, Jim demonstrates his process on Daily Post contributor Cynda Green… and on editor Bill Hudson… while explaining the various ‘meridian’ pressure points and their connection to internal organs such as the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine.

As Jim wrote in a September, 2020, “DIY COVID PREVENTATIVE TREATMENT” essay:

“This preventative health care treatment uses five acupoints specifically designed to activate and then strengthen the innate immune system. The innate immune system is the first to respond to any viral attack… A strong first response will repel the initial COVID attack before the disease progresses deeper into the lungs, affecting other organs…

“…The small intestine houses 67% of the innate immune system. Logic dictates that if one improved the health of the stomach and large intestine, it will benefit the many and varied functions of the small intestine…”

Acupressure has played an important role in traditional Chinese medicine for more than 2000 years, and the fact that it is still in use today is a testimony to its effectiveness in treating illness and pain. Acupressure is essentially a method of sending a signal to the body to “switch on” its own self-healing or regulatory mechanisms. According to Chinese medical theory, ‘Qi’ (vital energy, also spelled ‘Chi’) circulates through natural pathways in the body called meridians. Acupressure helps to correct functional imbalances and restore the flow, thus returning the body to a more natural state of well-being.

Some information sources recommend that acupressure be used under the guidance of your physician.

The ‘Do It Yourself’ treatment demonstrated by acupuncturist Jim Fox is quick and simple, once you know the locations of the ‘acupoints’ to be massaged. It’s performed with the patient comfortably seated in a chair.

From Jim’s essay:

“This seated COVID prevention treatment is easy to learn and takes only 3 to 5 minutes to perform. The treatment has three parts, the first being a dispersing technique designed to get rid of neck and shoulder tension… The second part of the treatment strengthens the stomach and large and small intestine by activating three acupoints on the Large Intestine Meridian…

“The final part of the treatment activates the master acupoint ‘ST 36’ located below the knee…”

Jim Fox has volunteered to return to Pagosa Springs and demonstrate his immune system treatment for additional community members. If any Daily Post readers are interested in learning more about this immune system treatment, please send us an email at pagosadailypost@gmail.com
