GGP’s ‘Breakfast IN a Balloon’ Event Runs Today Through Sunday

The annual Colorfest weekend is coming up and although it’s cancelled this year due to COVID-19, Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) still has a way you can help support GGP this year and enjoy a delicious breakfast from Pagosa Baking Company.

The ‘Breakfast IN a Balloon’ event starts today, Thursday, September 17 and runs through Sunday, September 20. Tickets are still available.

What is a ‘Breakfast IN a Balloon’, you ask? GGP has created a short video explaining this year’s Breakfast Event, Pandemic Version. The film is packed full of information and offer a look inside the delicious breakfast box.

Tickets are on sale at the  HYPERLINK “https://pagosagreen.org/breakfast-in-a-balloon/” \t “_blank” PagosaGreen.org website. Tickets are $40, which include an annual GGP membership and a gourmet breakfast box provided by Pagosa Baking Company. An annual membership allows Pagosa’s Renewable Energy Campus to continue providing environmental education and helps cover operational expenses, until GGP’s greenhouses can reopen for the community.

The delicious breakfast includes an egg soufflé, mini green chile ciabatta roll, prosciutto, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, scone, fresh fruit, and a long stem rose.

Tickets are sold at pagosagreen.org/breakfast-in-a-balloon and once purchased you’ll receive a confirmation from ggp@pagosagreen.org and your name will be placed on a list so that Pagosa Baking Company expects you. Email GGP for vegetarian and gluten free requests.

Though looking different this year, supporting GGP will be an excuse to appreciate a breakfast by Pagosa Baking Company and enjoy social-distanced fun! Go sit down at the GGP site with your breakfast and view the brand new solar arrays that are currently being installed. These solar arrays will supply the GGP site with their electricity using the energy of the sun. Of course, the three greenhouses are heated by the Town of Pagosa Springs geothermal water, but the cooling and ventilation systems require electricity. The new solar arrays are a beautiful addition to the GGP site and provide yet another way to teach our youth about renewable energy.

As a non-profit, GGP is volunteer- and donor-driven. We appreciate all of our Breakfast IN a Balloon sponsors including Exit Realty, Rocky Mountain Timberworks, Ears 2 U, Bank of Colorado, Rocky Mountain Balloon Adventures, and Pagosa Baking Company.
