Road Maintenance on Piedra Road Next Week

The San Juan National Forest will be conducting road maintenance activities on Piedra Road (NFSR 631) the week of August 10. Work will start Monday and is anticipated to conclude Friday, August 14.

The maintenance will include replacing three nonfunctioning culverts and a cattle guard that can no longer be repaired.
Culverts will be replaced at miles 16.8, 19.5 and 24.5. The cattle guard located near Bridge Campground, at mile 18.9, will be removed and a new one installed.

Travelers can expect and be prepared to see workers and road machinery in these areas.

Forest visitors should obey all traffic signs and exercise caution when traveling this route during the week of August 10. Although every effort will be made to facilitate the flow of traffic, travelers should be prepared for delays of up to 30 minutes in the areas undergoing maintenance.
