I brought my camera along to the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Ruby Sisson Memorial Library this past Wednesday, where the staff and volunteers were celebrating a sizable donation of vacant land adjacent to the existing library property. The donation had been made in honor of long-time library supporter and volunteer Margaret Wilson, and the library hopes to use the parcel as a future parking lot, should the library someday acquire the funding necessary to expand its current facility.
When I arrived, I discovered that several other people had also brought along their cameras to document the ceremony, including Chris Mannara from the weekly Pagosa Springs SUN, and one of our community’s finest professional photographers, Jeff Laydon of Pagosa Photography.
I quickly realized that I was outgunned.
But I had my new iPhone in my pocket — a Christmas gift from my family — and I had never tested out its video capabilities. So here is the results of my video experiment… followed by a few photos sent to me by Jeff Laydon…
