Childbirth Classes Set to Begin April 18; ‘Walk for Moms’ on May 14

Aspire is offering a free childbirth education class starting on April 18 from 5:30 to 8pm.

This three-class series helps you prepare a birth plan, understand your options, ask questions and get ready for childbirth. We also offer a free dinner as part of the class. Class slots are limited, so please email clinicmanager@aspirepagosa.org or call (970) 264-5963 if you are interested in attending.

Aspire also invites Pagosa Springs community members to sign up for the annual ‘Walk for Moms’ event on May 14 at Yamaguchi Park. Participants can register online at https://aspirepagosa.org. The theme this year is “Step into spring … ‘Cause Moms Just Want to Have More Sun!”

New this year, in honor of Mother’s Day, we are having a contest for the “Mom of the Year.” Please create a short (less than one minute) video about who you feel should be “Mom of the Year” and why. Text your video to (970) 903-3605 or send to our Facebook Aspire page via Messenger.

We will upload various videos on our Facebook and Instagram pages, so this is a great way to honor your special mom. After being selected, we will feature the winning video and place an ad in local media announcing who won “Mom of the Year.” She will also receive a special gift, and if she lives in Pagosa Springs, she will be honored during our ‘Walk for Moms’ event.

Walk for Moms keeps our quality prenatal clinic affordable for all as well as helps us provide education/classes for parents of babies and toddlers. Registration for the event is free. All participants will receive a “goodie bag” and walkers can also earn additional prizes for those who raise $50 or more. We will also have prizes for “best dressed” teams and most pledges raised.

Check-in/registration and a free breakfast starts at 8:30am in Yamaguchi Park. The walk starts at 9am and awards ceremony will follow at 10am. Various stations and fun pit stops will be set up along the path for supporters to play games and get information.

Aspire is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our main source of income is through events and the generous support of individuals and organizations.
