The book The Shadow War by J. Scuitto (2019) lays out the coordinated acts of war committed by China and Russia against the USA. Beyond the scary aspect of these acts of war is the almost total lack of recognition, strategy and tactics of response by the administrations of both parties.
Scuitto has toured the ‘front lines’ with our armed forces in the air, cyber world, land and underwater securing quotes from multiple sources within our field intelligence and armed forces proving without doubt Russia aided Trumps’ election. Not because they favor the Republicans but to take advantage of and increase the polarization within America. I am embarrassed to admit I have aided that polarization.
Both Russia and China are aggressively jointly practicing a “high-low” strategy of hostility. ‘High’ means they’re building the capability to defeat us in an all-out war on all fronts. ‘Low’ are acts of aggression just below the level that we would respond militarily…and they have no intention of stopping! What’s the difference between these two nation — trade with China without tariffs, etc. may be $700 billion annually, we have practically zero trade with Russia but their motivation is identical to be… the super power. Does the word ‘vassal’ ring a bell, but…hey our unemployment is low?
And that is precisely what’s so difficult for me to grasp. The blatant Russian orientation so in-your-face in the Republican party today, their support of our President’s denial of our intelligence and military advice and his alternate reality on issues of national security, and finally the ‘blind faith’ demonstrated by so many Americans who will only suffer from his political acts reducing or destroying almost everything we existentially need to do to survive as a sovereign nation on earth. MAGA = our destruction.
Did you ever have an impulse to grab a child destroying something and say..stop it, that’s bad! That’s a mild description of what my feelings are regarding Trump’s supporters. However, Sciutto’s book makes very clear that, in 15-25 years, we will not be America as we have known our nation, if we do not find a way to rejoin and face our true enemies… Russia and China.
