‘Coffeehouse Nite’ at Pagosa Peak Open School, April 3

Local musicians, performers, actors, and poets are featured at the monthly ‘Coffeehouse Nite’ at Pagosa Peak Open School, as a benefit for the school. The project is held in the music/art room on the first Thursday of each month.

Suggested donation of $10 includes coffee, tea, and snacks in a casual, alcohol-free atmosphere.

The upcoming Coffeehouse Nite, on Thursday April 3, will feature Chris Haas, Trey Brooks, Eric Wade, Laurie Brinkman, Alison Beach, Desirée Soto M, and Bill Hudson.

Chris Haas is well known among music fans in Pagosa as front man, lead singer and songwriter for a number of popular local bands, including Ragwater, Ebenezer & the Crooked Hookers, and Knucka.

Alison Beach is a songwriter and poet, and the language arts teacher at Pagosa Peak Open School.

Trey Brooks and Eric Wade are best known as the front men for the popular local rock band, 13th Hour.

Laurie Brinkman is lead singer with the rock-soul-country band SoulFire, and has performed with several other local bands including Alibi Seven, the Bohemians, and 13th Hour.

Desirée Soto M refers to herself a “traveling farmer from Maine”, sharing seeds of stories through poetry and storytelling. A Queens, NYC native looking to build community one word and action at a time.

Bill Hudson has participated in a wide variety of musical efforts, including playing in various local bands, and producing concerts and theatrical performances.

Pagosa Peak Open School is a tuition-free, K-8 district charter school focused on implementing a project-based learning (PBL) curriculum, in a Restorative Practices environment. Field work and interviewing experts are foundational to project-based learning.
