‘Easy Enrollment’ Available Through Colorado Connect for Health

Though the open enrollment deadline of January 15 has passed, there is one more opportunity for residents to explore options for health insurance through Colorado Connect for Health during an ‘easy enrollment period’… also known as tax season.

The Archuleta County Public Health Department (ACPHD) is here to help anyone with questions about this opportunity for open enrollment options.

Residents who are uninsured, eligible for financial assistance, who have not yet filed their Colorado state tax return, are urged to call ACPHD health navigator, Madeline Sutton prior to filing. By simply filling out a separate form and checking a box on their return, they may be eligible for open enrollment options. Sutton can help with qualification questions and the right health plan for both individuals and families, with some plans are as low as $15 per month! Residents utilizing a tax preparation service or online portal may still qualify.

Sutton is available by appointment Monday through Friday by calling 970-264-2409, or by email msutton@archuletacounty.org.
