Enjoy the Archuleta County Fair This Weekend

Speaking of community spirit, don’t miss the 72nd annual Archuleta County Fair happening August 3-6. Each day is filled with activities, including the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo on Friday evening, Open Rodeo on Saturday and Kid’s Rodeo on Sunday.

There are livestock shows every day as well as the exhibits and other events such as horseshoes, a pie eating contest, vendors and Wild Man Phil.

The grand opening for the Hughes Pavilion is at 4pm on Saturday, August 5. You can also enjoy the 4-H Chuckwagon beginning at 4pm, followed by the livestock auction.

The mission of the Archuleta County Fair is to unite the community and preserve our history while embracing growth. We will support this by building memories, encouraging community involvement, creating learning opportunities, and providing entertainment.

We believe in developing and fostering healthy competition for all Archuleta County 4-H, FFA, and Open Class exhibitors of the Archuleta County Fair.

According to the Pagosa Springs Sun, August 10, 1951, the Fair was for the benefit of the entire community, town’s people and ranchers alike. The Archuleta County Fair is a returning theme in the pattern of our County’s history, changing a little every year, growing with the community and keeping true to some of the same values held dear over seventy years ago.

Come and enjoy the tradition of our community at the Archuleta County Fairgrounds.
