Democratic Club to Hear About Invasive Plants, Today, March 10

By Lynn Frederick

The Archuleta County Democratic Club will meet for lunch at Coyote Moon at 11:30am today, Monday, March 10.

The speaker will be Ethan Proud, Archuleta County Weed and Pest supervisor. Come and hear about the damage that noxious, invasive plants are doing to our local agriculture, native vegetation, and how they disrupt our ecosystems.

Proud joins us at an opportune time, just as we head outside and survey our property for spring clean-up.

We also expect to have available copies of the new pocket handbook, “Noxious Weeds of Colorado, 15th Edition,” edited by Proud with Alicia Doran for the Colorado Weed Management Association. Donations to help cover the cost of the pocket handbook will be accepted.

The Archuleta County Democratic Club meets every month with a speaker presenting at noon. The club gives local Democrats the opportunity to meet with other Democrats and to hear speakers from the community, meet candidates for local and national offices, and hear about topics of timely interest.

All are welcome to attend. Please plan on coming by 11:30am to order lunch.
