Update on Habitat Homes in Archuleta County

Core volunteer Larry Parks explained that things have slowed down a bit at our 2024 build sites, but the team is still making great progress.

He and our partner families and construction staff headed down the road to work on siding for one of this year’s Habitat homes, while other volunteers remained inside to do tiling of the showers, and will shortly transition into tiling the floor.

While the pace is a bit slower, Larry added, “The quality of the work that we’re doing is very good, I’m proud of it, and our homeowners are going to be proud of it too.”

Our summer interns have gone back to school, and the construction crew feels their absence. We wish Peyton and Lorelei the best of luck at school this year, and hope to see them on their weekends and especially next summer!

Larry also said some other core volunteers have headed out on vacations, so they’re a bit short handed as we move into fall. If you’re interested in joining our amazing volunteers and construction staff with a whole plethora of projects, please call us at 970-264-6960 or email us at office@habitatarchuleta.org

Huge thanks to Wolf Song Running Adventures!
Wolf Song organized a truly incredible trail race at Wolf Creek Ski Area and generously gave us the space for an information booth. We enjoyed hanging out with the race sponsors, talking about affordable homeownership, and cheering on our volunteer coordinator.

We can’t wait to partner with Wolf Song again for Habitat Archuleta’s race in May 2025! Stay tuned…
