Volunteer Community Naturalist Training with Audubon Rockies

Audubon Rockies is recruiting volunteer environmental educators to support our Community Naturalist program in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Our volunteer training event in Pagosa Springs will get you familiarized with our long-standing environmental education program at Four Mile Ranch including program activities, lessons, and frequented trails.

Once confident with the lessons and trails, volunteers will be prepared to lead tours for small groups of K-4 students from early September through mid-October. As a volunteer environmental educator, you can help inspire a lifelong love of nature and conservation in young students.

Event details include the Four Mile Ranch Volunteer Training orientation on Monday, August 26 from 9:00am – 12:00pm at the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library conference room, and the Volunteer Training at Four Mile Ranch (directions will be provided upon registration) on August 27 and 28  from 8:30am – 4:00pm each day.

On Thursday, August 29, we’ll offer a $20 First Aid and CPR course for volunteers located at Four Mile Ranch from 8am to 5pm.

Registration and details can be found at rockies.audubon.org/events.

Registrants are strongly encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible, as each session will cover new material.

If you are unable to attend all sessions, that’s okay. Please register for the day(s) you can attend, then reach out to keith.bruno@audubon.org to discuss making up any missed content you may need.
