PAGOSA FARMERS MARKET: SoCo Mountain Food Services Offers a Unique Approach

By Caryn Hill

Thinking outside the box is a specialty of Ana Smith, our featured vendor for this week. Ana created SoCo Mountain Food Services to be a positive change in food prep and offer the community access to healthy, deliciously prepared foods outside of the restaurant industry. Ana offers in-home services such as meal prep and private dining events as well as simple catering.

Using healthy, well-balanced ingredients, Ana prepares meals in either a commercial kitchen or in her client’s own home. Her mini-meal prep boxes are prepared in a commercial kitchen and provided as a package. These options give client’s full in-home meal prep and are a great way to experience Ana’s services. Meal preps include around six meals plus snacks and are designed to taste even better the next day. Ana’s full meal prep services are completely customizable, proportioned, and created to meet the client’s individual needs.

After 22 years in the food and beverage industry, Ana decided she wanted to be the change that the community needed. For the past three years, SoCo Mountain Food Services has been positively affecting the community by helping people eat better and feel better.

Visit Ana at the Pagosa Farmers Market and try one of her meal preps or delicious baked goods.

Pagosa Farmers Market is happening every Saturday, from 9am -1pm until the end of September at the Tennyson Sculpture Garden and Park on Lewis Street. Veggies and produce are in summer abundance, plus the Market’s vendors provide a variety of items such as locally raised meats, baked goods and one-of-a-kind artisan crafts.

SNAP cards are welcome and the Market is the only place in Pagosa Springs that offers SNAP recipients $20 of Double Up Bucks for the first $20 card purchase, doubling purchasing power to $40.

Information on the Pagosa Farmers Market is available by visiting pagosafarmersmarket.org or calling 970-264-5232.
