The Kennedy campaign announced this week it has submitted the required signatures to gain ballot access in Colorado. The campaign turned in more than 30,000 signatures on Thursday, more than double the 12,000 required.
“The volunteers in Colorado have gone above and beyond the call of duty to get Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the ballot,” said Colorado State Director Isaac James. “They have driven hundreds of miles and dedicated countless hours to ensure he’s on the ballot in each congressional district.”
Last week, the Kennedy campaign announced a partnership with the Libertarian Party of Colorado (LPCO) to disrupt the entrenched two-party system. Along with appearing as an Independent on the ballot in Colorado, the Kennedy campaign has welcomed the opportunity to also appear as the nominee of the LPCO and is assessing the permissibility of listing both in recognition of this historic alliance.
“We hope to place RFK Jr. on two ballot lines in Colorado, where in the tradition of fusion voting, Coloradans will see him running as an Independent and with support from the Libertarian Party of Colorado,” said LPCO Chair Hannah Goodman.
The campaign’s aggressive ballot access operation has surpassed all its milestones to ensure the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket is on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The ballot access operation is fully funded with more than $15 million raised.
The Kennedy-Shanahan campaign has collected the signatures needed for ballot access in 29 states, totaling 390 electoral votes, 72% of the 538 total electoral votes nationwide.
The Kennedy-Shanahan ticket is officially on the ballot in 9 states — California, Delaware, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah.
The campaign has submitted its signatures in 15 states — Alaska, Illinois, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and now Colorado.
It has collected enough signatures for ballot access in five states — Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, New Hampshire, and Nevada.
On May 1, the Kennedy campaign released results from a Zogby poll showing Kennedy beats both Presidents Biden and Trump in head-to-head matchups. Trump defeats Biden handily. Kennedy beats President Trump in a two-way race, by a tight margin. In a two-way race between Kennedy and President Biden, Kennedy wins in a landslide. Kennedy is the first independent ever to defeat both major party candidates in head-to-head matchups.
