On Saturday, November 11, the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs will host a celebration of its beautiful new art mural painted on the thrift store downtown, as well as the launch of its new website.
Come meet the talented mural artist, Markus Hughes, while learning more about our mission, adoption opportunities, and how you can support us in our efforts to care for our community’s cats and dogs. This event will be a casual, come-and-go appreciation event where attendees can drop by to say hello, celebrate the Humane Society’s accomplishments, and enjoy a quick bite to eat while listening to some great live music.
Meltdown on Main, located next door at 257 Pagosa St, will host this free, family-friendly celebration from noon until 3pm. Enjoy the melodic tunes of local singer-songwriter Michael Hanlon while dining on delicious food and beverages that will be available for purchase.
“We hope everyone can join us at this momentous occasion to thank our community for their incredible support,” said Executive Director Robson Reyes. “We are proud to showcase our new website and the breathtaking mural that adds beauty to Pagosa Street while building awareness for our cause…. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated!”

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs is a local, private nonprofit organization that operates the only animal shelter in Archuleta County. The organization does not receive funding from the Humane Society of the United States, American Humane, ASPCA or any other national animal welfare organizations. Private donations, grants, and thrift store revenues cover only a portion of animal shelter operating expenses. The remainder of shelter costs must be met through fundraising events and community support.
