Historic Buildings Moving Through Downtown This Week

This week — on Tuesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 24, from approximately 9:00am to 6:00pm — three historic buildings are scheduled to be moved from their current location behind the new Archuleta County Combined Courts Facility at 85 Harman Park Drive… to the Rodeo Grounds / Fairgrounds site at 344 US Hwy 84 here in Pagosa Springs.

The largest building (measuring 24 feet wide by 16 feet long by 18.5 feet tall), will require heavy duty moving equipment and will be considered an oversize load as it travels through town to its new home. The move will also require close coordination and associated work with state, county, and municipal agencies, multiple utility companies, local schools, and all area residents, visitors, and businesses.

Temporary Traffic Delays and Road Closures
Given the size of the buildings and the complexity of the move to the new location, there will be potential minor, but temporary disruptions in traffic patterns and associated travel delays throughout the day.

The information below is provided for both your awareness of the upcoming event and the specific details which should allow everyone to plan accordingly in advance.

Everyone’s understanding and anticipated cooperation is appreciated. Click the map for a larger view.
