Ride the Mountain Express Transit Bus for Free in August

During the month of August, public transit agencies around the state of Colorado are joining together to take part in the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative.  This initiative is designed to reduce ozone by increasing the use of public transit.

The Mountain Express Transit (MET), operated by Archuleta County, provides a normal bus service, dial-a-ride services, and transportation to and from Durango and Arboles every other week. All services are FREE for the month of August.

The next trip to Durango is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, August 11, with another trip scheduled on August 25 — leaving at 9:30am and returning at 3pm.   Seating is limited.  Call 970-264-2250 for more information.  These trips are FREE during August.

Durango Transit and the RoadRunner, out of Ignacio, are also participating in this ‘cleaner air’ initiative. Bustang, which runs to Denver and other metropolitan areas will be half price during the month of August.

Call the MET at 970-264-2250 for reservation and bus route information. Find more information on our website.
