The repaving of Piedra Road (County Road 600) will begin today, Tuesday June 6, from Cloud Cap Avenue to Stephen’s Lake Road due to severe road damage.
All local neighborhood traffic will be directed to take either Cloud Cap Ave from the south side or Mission Drive from the north side of construction with all traffic detouring to North Pagosa Boulevard.
Heavy trucks and trailers should bypass Piedra Rd to avoid neighborhood detours and use North Pagosa Blvd from Highway 160 as an alternative route.
Archuleta County asks that all Piedra Road travelers respect the advised detour routes and use caution when driving through neighborhoods and around road construction workers and equipment.
The full road project is expected to be completed by the end of August 2023.
