Pagosa Chamber Announces Board Candidates
The Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce recently requested interested parties to self nominate… and the Chamber Board also solicited potential candidates for its 2018 Board of Directors.
Every year, the Chamber of Commerce rotates off three Board members and replaces them with three new members. In this way, the organization continues to bring in “fresh blood,” new ideas and a change in the variety of businesses represented.
The slate of candidates that will be up for election for the 2018 Chamber Board of Directors are as follows: LeAnne Goebel, man- ager, Lantern Dancer Gallery and Gift Shop; Jim Hayes, co-owner of The Hub; Jesse Hensle, marketing and communications manager for Pagosa Springs Medical Center; Mary Hunt, owner of Mary Hunt USHealth Advisors; Dan McPherson, co-owner of Sunetha Property Management; and Leighton Mekeal, pastor, Community United Methodist Church.
Of these six candidates, three will be selected to serve three-year terms through the annual voting process. The voting begins today, Monday, December 4. Chamber member businesses will receive a special email announcing the voting and issuing instructions on how businesses can vote for the candidates.
The process is simple. Each Chamber business can cast one ballot. If you own several businesses, then you may vote equal to the number of Chamber-registered businesses. Your membership must be in good standing. With each ballot, you will vote for up to three of the candidates. Should you vote for more than three candidates or your business votes multiple times, your ballot will be invalidated.
There will be a “Click Here” button on the email to vote, you can go to the Chamber website, www.pagosachamber.com to vote, or you can still come by the Chamber of offices and manually cast your ballot through the paper system.
The voting will continue until close of business on January 5, 2018. The selected directors will be announced at the Chamber’s annual meeting that will be held on January 20, 2018, at the PLPOA clubhouse.
As members of the Chamber, this is your benefit to vote for those individuals who help shape the business voice of the Chamber.
Directors should be chosen not simply because you know the person, but based on their skills and contributions to the overall effectiveness of the Chamber.
Please take three minutes out of your day and help select the next board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce.
