Youthful ‘Elf the Musical’ Opens Nov. 16 at PSHS

By Dale Johnson

Curtains Up Pagosa is excited to announce the terrific cast for their Winter show, “Elf the Musical.”

For this production, performance rights were restricted to ages 18 and under, and we found the best of our young actors to portray all of the wonderful and fun characters that will grace our stage in “Elf.”

Alex Foster is featured in the starring role of Buddy the Elf; with other talented actors portraying lead roles: Kaya Knox as Jovie, newcomer Elaine Friday as Emily, Adrian Roque as Walter, Kaeden Thomas as Michael and Hunter Swinehart as Santa.

Our supporting roles are played by Emma Happ, Connor Thomas, Anika Thomas, Miles Roque, Kayla Nasralla, Sydney Mitchell, Ella Hemenger, Cheyenne Todd, Maya Nasralla, David Morehouse, Marissa Medina, Karissa Foster, Antonia Bussoli, Alyssa Martinez, Madeline Stewart, Gracelyn Kiker and Avonlea Thomas.

Alex Foster, a senior at Pagosa Springs High School, is playing the title role of Buddy the Elf in CUP’s winter production of “Elf the Musical” opening November 16. Alex is a veteran performer in Pagosa, having been a part of many musicals for both CUP and the high school. He brings life, joy, and hope to his lovable Buddy character!

Featured Elves are Gracelyn Kiker, Avonlea Thomas, Alec Jacquez, Emma Ziminsky and Sierra Liverett. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Lexi Kappauf, Olivia Mazur, Anja Nasralla, Ruth Ann Morehouse and Raygan Porter.

This production of “Elf the Musical” is produced, directed and choreographed by Dale Johnson with musical direction by Robert Neel and assistant directing, choreography, and costuming by Jeremy Medina. Our accompanist is Diane Geraghty.

Robert is currently assembling musicians for our live pit, a mainstay of CUP’s musical productions.

“Elf the Musical” will be performed at our home stage at Pagosa Springs High School on November 16, 17, 18 and 19 — 4 shows only!

CUP is the primary support for the performing arts in our schools, as we use our profits in service to our students and community.
