LETTER: Archuleta School District Hosting Public Facilities Meeting Tomorrow, Oct. 26

The Archuleta School District board of directors is holding a community meeting on Thursday, October 26. The board is seeking public input on the topic of school district facilities.

There will be two meeting times at two different locations in order to give participants flexibility in providing feedback to the board. The first meeting time and location is noon to 1:00pm at the PLPOA Clubhouse. The second meeting time and location is 6:00 – 7:00pm at the Community Center. Food and child care will be available at both meetings.

The purpose of the meeting is for the school board to hear the public’s feedback regarding district facilities. The board will not be advocating for any policy or resource commitments. The board will present a brief overview of the work being done in regard to district facilities and will then answer questions and listen to comments from the public.

For those members of our community who attended the meeting in September, the only new information will be an update on the work of the PAT group.

The school board encourages all members of the public to attend this meeting. We would especially like to hear feedback from parents of children who attend our schools. Your input will help inform the district’s facilities master plan. This meeting is the second in a series of monthly community engagement meetings that the school board will be doing this school year to address district priorities.

We hope to see you there.

Brooks Lindner for the ASD School Board
