Chamber’s Annual ‘Job Fair’ Set for May 12 at PSHS

New to the community and looking for a job? In school now and looking for summer employment? How about some part time work or a new career?

You can accomplish all these searches at the annual Job Fair hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. This year the fair will be held on Friday, May 12 and located at the Pagosa Springs High School. The Job Fair will take place from 12:30pm – 5:30pm… however, the hours will be broken out into 2 time frames. The students will be able to access the Fair from 12:30 to 1:30pm. The public will be able to attend the Job Fair from 2-5:30pm.

Businesses: You can reserve your booth space by contacting the Chamber. Booth fees are only $25 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members. You will be able to access the High School starting at 11am to set up your booth. A table and chairs will be provided for you. The rest of your booth is up to your creativity! Beverages and snacks will also be provided for vendors.

We recommend bringing job applications and qualified personnel to conduct initial job interviews. The interview process will be broken down into 2 stages: High School attendees first and then the general public. If your business is looking for only one position in your establishment with a special skill set, please contact Mary Jo at the chamber and we can assist you without you having to attend the fair.

Job Seekers: Be prepared to see a number of businesses at once. Establishments will be on hand to have you fill out applications and conduct initial interviews. The public will not be admitted to the Fair until 2pm. Come to the fair prepared with resumes, and contact information that you will need for the applications… and appropriately dressed. There will be a table staffed with personnel where job seekers can get free resume review advice.

Businesses are clamoring for qualified workers. Jobs are ranging from entry level and seasonal work to professional positions. New businesses are opening, existing businesses are expanding and the community is looking forward to a very busy summer.

Businesses are looking for people who want to work. There are entry level positions that lead to career growth. There are positions that are seasonal and require a variety of job skills. This is the time to get out there and see what opportunities await you!

For more information or to reserve your booth space, contact the Chamber at 970-264-2360.
