Pagosa Audubon Society Seeking ‘Environmental Educators’

By Keith Bruno

Do you catch yourself thumbing through bird and plant guides of the Rocky Mountains, attempting to identify the species you saw yesterday? Do you enjoy handing down your passion for the natural world to younger generations?

Archuleta County residents are invited to join the Audubon Rockies’ Environmental Education Team, with training starting this coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10-12.

Hawk and Magpie momentarily share a Ponderosa pine.

At the Terry and Jake Hershey Four Mile Ranch, Kindergarden through 4th grade students annually explore the wonders of our local ecology. This spring, programs will run from the last week of April through the middle of May. Come lead a group!

If interested in involvement, join the Audubon Rockies Volunteer Educator Training Series for the following 2 1/2 days:

  • April 10 (Monday): 9am-noon at Ruby Sisson Memorial Library, Pagosa Springs
  • April 11 and 12 (Tuesday and Wednesday): 8:30am-2:30pm at the Hershey/Four Mile Ranch on Snowball Road
